ABOUT MONIQUE
Allow me to introduce myself as a candidate for New Castle County Council President, a role I am ready to take on with a lifetime of leadership, empathy, and service. From my upbringing as the daughter of a minister in Claymont to my extensive experience in community outreach, I've ingrained the values of reverence and strong will.
My journey began at the age of five when I learned the essence of servanthood, a lifestyle of giving to those in need. Inspired by my grandparents' example of hard work and persistence, I founded "A Helping Hand" nonprofit to address community needs. Additionally, initiatives like "Living outside of the Walls" demonstrate my commitment to advocating for the underserved.
Through the Dream Leadership Institute, I empower young adults with life skills and entrepreneurship, ensuring they have the tools to succeed in secondary education. As a proud mother and wife, I understand the importance of family and community cohesion, actively supporting other families in experiencing their best lives.
I am dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by our district, particularly in education. With a focus on improving the quality of education for our children and supporting our teachers, I aim to create an atmosphere where growth and progress are limitless.
